Rebecca Gough is a graduate of Bellevue University. Her career includes forty plus years in health insurance. Twenty-one years with Principal Financial Group in various roles, with the last as a Business Analyst in the Information Services department, designing and testing software to meet changes in laws and regulations in health insurance. During this time, she earned credentials as a Health Insurance Associate (HIA), Accredited Life and Health Associate (ALHC) and a Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI).
Prior to retirement in 2019, Rebecca worked for Myrtue Medical Center as a Business Office Manager with oversight of patient registration, insurance and patient billing, and accounts receivable. The last few years the focus was on counseling patients for receiving assistance on payment of medical bills through Medicaid, Medicare, and other programs. Through membership in the American Association of Health Administrative Management, Rebecca received her Certified Revenue Cycle Executive (CRCE) certification and served as chapter president.
Since retirement Rebecca has spent her time as a volunteer with Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) through the Iowa Insurance Commissioner’s office. Fall is a particularly busy time assisting Medicare beneficiaries review and select Prescription Drug Plans. Hobbies include reading, visiting friends and relatives and the mandatory retiree’s pastime, Pickleball.
